Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 26, 2026

VoxTrad provides live event translation for organizers and anonymous listeners. This policy describes what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Who we are

VoxTrad is operated as a software service for live speech translation at events. For privacy questions, contact us at [email protected] or use the contact form at voxtrad.com/contact.

Information we collect

Organizer accounts: email address, display name, organization settings (default languages, branding, timezone), and authentication data managed by Supabase.

Usage and billing: live broadcast minutes, active translation languages, listener counts, and Stripe customer/subscription identifiers.

Event data: broadcast titles, schedules, join codes, and optional feedback you submit while signed in.

We do not require listeners to create accounts.

Live audio processing

When a broadcast is live, audio from the speaker is streamed through LiveKit to our translation agent, which sends speech to Google Gemini Live for real-time transcription and translation.

Audio is processed to deliver the service during the session. We do not use your audio to train our own models. Google's API terms govern their processing as a subprocessors.

Transcript storage

On Starter plans and above, we store text transcripts derived from live audio — both the source language and each active target language — in our database (Supabase Postgres). Organization members can view saved transcripts on broadcast detail pages after an event ends.

Free plans do not include live transcript panels or stored transcript archives.

Listeners

Listeners join events anonymously via link or QR code. We may store a random listener session identifier to enforce plan limits and, when sampled, to collect optional post-event translation quality ratings. Ratings do not require an account.

Service providers

We use third parties to operate VoxTrad, including Supabase (authentication and database), Stripe (billing), Vercel (hosting), LiveKit (real-time audio rooms), and Google (Gemini Live speech processing). These providers process data on our behalf under their respective terms and security practices.

Cookies and local storage

We use strictly necessary cookies and browser storage for: Supabase authentication sessions, UI language preference (lt-locale), and theme preference. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies on the core product today.

Dismissal of the cookie notice is stored locally in your browser (lt-cookie-consent).

Data retention

When you delete a broadcast or recurring series, associated transcript segments are permanently removed as part of that deletion.

Usage metering records may be retained for billing and analytics even after an event is deleted.

On paid tiers, stored transcripts are kept until you delete the event or contact us to request removal. Canceling a subscription does not automatically delete past transcripts.

Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Organizers can update profile and organization settings in the dashboard and delete individual events to remove associated transcripts.

To request account deletion or other privacy requests, use the contact form and select Privacy.

Changes and governing law

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above. Except where mandatory local law applies, this policy is governed by the laws of Canada.
